SMTP Error 502

Hello,
We've been happily using SimpleMail 3.1.125 up until we switched networks from Bellsouth to AT&T.
Now, whenever we try to send an email using vbscript (Windows Scripting Host), we get this error:

502 unimplemented (#5.5.1)

We have made no changes to our scripts or to SimpleMail - we just switched ISP networks. We use SMTP authentication and we've tested using the SimpleMail client program, but we get the same error. I am able to read from /send to the same email account with Mozilla Thunderbird.

I can't figure out what SimpleMail is trying to do that AT&T doesn't like.

Anyone know of a workaround? Thanks.

Your new ISP properly doesn't support the SMTP Authentication method which SimpleMail is using.
The error code and message lead to this.

OK then - is there a way to tell SimpleMail to use a different authentication method or should I look for a different product?

SimpleMail only supports the Method "AUTH Login", you may ask your ISP to support this login method, it is supported by most mailservers by default.
