ssh not working in Syslog Appliance

Postby skece04 » Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:53 pm

i hav downloaded the syslog appliance from vmware.com\appliance and booted the OS

the SSH is disabled by default, i am not able to enable SSH...
i need to enable ssh so that i can access from outside

During the configuration of OS, the scirpt said ssh(1=yes , or anyother key=no)...nothing works for me

What should i do to enable ssh?

i badly need ssh

Thanks

To keep the size of the vm small, ssh isn't installed by default.
Just run "apt-get install openssh-server", after installation you will be able to connect by using ssh.

I tried, and got " Package openssh-server has no installation candidate"

any more suggestions?

You should perform package updates first:

Code: Select all
apt-get update
apt-get install openssh-server
