Redis Plugin

Postby rcuza » Fri Sep 18, 2015 3:49 pm

Hola,

What is the status of the REDIS plugin (`contrib/omhiredis`)?

I am trying to build the plugin on a CentOS v6 box on HEAD and running into problems. I've been looking at the documentation for build instructions, but have not found enough to get me to the point of creating binaries.

If you are using it in production, can you please share your experiences.

Thank you in advance.

I was able to resolve to get the omhiredis module to compile on CentOS 6 with rsyslog v8.12.0 installed. I built the module from the v8.12.0 tag.
Code: Select all
could not load module '/lib64/rsyslog/omhiredis.so', dlopen: /lib64/rsyslog/omhiredis.so: undefined symbol: redisConnectWithTimeout  [v8.12.0 try http://www.rsyslog.com/e/2066 ]

$ ls -l  /lib64/rsyslog/omhiredis.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 52624 Sep 18 19:19 /lib64/rsyslog/omhiredis.so

Any suggestions on where to go with this?

did you build all of rsyslog? or only the one module and added it to an existing rsyslog install?

If you didn't build everything, I would suggest that you do so.

I woudl guess that this is missing some redis support library, double check your build and make sure it didn't complain about something.
