udp vs tcp, persistent sessions

Postby RSchulz » Fri Oct 07, 2016 9:32 am

i like to switch rsyslog from udp to tcp on our 300 Linux server.
Our firewall team has ask some questions i have to answer to do that.

I read some articles, but could not find a proof for one question:

If we change from udp to tcp: will the tcp session by persistent between the "client" and the "server", even if there are none messages?

Are there articles i can quote?

Thank you

Article i have read are: ... tcp-syslog. ... rding.html ... gging.html
