Error 15: Syslog file is not readable, read access may be de

Postby cad » Thu May 21, 2009 5:05 pm

Hi

I have an error 15 problem: Syslog file is not readable, read access may be denied
User permissions in syslog file are 640
Code: Select all
-rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 133K May 21 14:28 /var/log/syslog

If I make an easy chmod 644 /var/log/syslog I solve the problem...

But every time there's a rotation of logs file permission is changed. How could I fix that?

Thanks!

Hi,

unless the webserver user www-data is not in the adm group, phpLogCon will not be able to read the syslog file.
For more see this wiki article:
