rsyslog-gnutls from adiscon repo problem

Postby gkappel » Mon Apr 21, 2014 11:41 pm

Trying to install on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, rsyslog installs but rsyslog-gnutls does not

Using deb precise main
sudo apt-get install rsyslog-gnutls

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
rsyslog-gnutls : Depends: rsyslog (= 8.2.0-0adiscon1precise3) but 8.2.0-0adiscon1precise4 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Using deb precise main
rsyslog installed although sudo apt-cache showpkg rsyslog shows:

sudo apt-get install rsyslog-gnutls

Unpacking rsyslog-gnutls (from .../rsyslog-gnutls_8.1.6-0adiscon2precise4_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/rsyslog-gnutls_8.1.6-0adiscon2precise4_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/rsyslog/', which is also in package rsyslog 8.1.6-0adiscon2precise4
Errors were encountered while processing:
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

rsyslog-gnutls has been removed as the gnutls files are included in the main package now.
So there is no need to install it.

I am woundering why you still can't see this package o.O
