syslog file is not read-able

Postby lwmiller » Thu Sep 13, 2012 2:55 pm

I know this topic has been covered numerous times, I have searched for it, tried multiple things and still am not having any luck getting Loganalyzer to read my log files.
This is a fresh install of 3.5.6 with rsyslog on a fresh installation of CentOS. I have added the apache user to the adm group

Changed the permissions on all files in /var/log/remotehosts,
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 153560 Sep 13 09:45 smctux01.log

changed the config.php file to point to /var/log/remotehosts,
$CFG['DiskAllowed'][] = "/var/log/remotehosts";

restarted the httpd service, restarted rsyslog and just about everything else I can think of, but still no luck. If I log in as a normal user, I can read the syslog files in the directory, so I do not believe permissios are an issue.

Thanks in advance,

Please get Loganalyzer 3.6.2 or newer (when available), this problem has been fixed in these versions:

I am using the latest version 3.6.5, but still have the similar problem. I've spend many days to search around.
