Urgent Question?

  • Pulling out your Hair?
  • Wasting Time and Money?
  • Deadline Approaching?

have you defined the necessary data sources in loganalyzer? Does loganalyzer have access permissions to the files/database in question?

Hi,

have you checked if there is data in your configured database?
With the details given, it is impossible to tell why Loganalyzer does not display any data.

best regards,

interestingly I have the same problem except that the statistics page displays fine, while the event page says that there is nothing there. My log level is set to debug in the web host configuration but that shows no errors,

On the other hand information loaded in via files works.

It's had a half dozen or so different configurations and though I can break it by setting it to syslog-ng mode (e.g. the statistics page stops working too) I can't make it work.

out of curiosity why isn't there an rsyslog option when it comes to mysql but a syslog-ng and the other one?

Anyway, the config file as it stands now.

# Use traditional timestamp format
$ActionFileDefaultTemplate RSYSLOG_TraditionalFileFormat
$ModLoad imklog
$ModLoad imuxsock
$ModLoad ommysql.so
$template dbFormat,"insert into SystemEvents (Message, Facility,FromHost, Priority, DeviceReportedTime, ReceivedAt, InfoUnitID, SysLogTag) values ('%msg%', %syslogfacility%, '%HOSTNAME%',%syslogpriority%, '%timereported:::date-mysql%', '%timegenerated:::date-mysql%', %iut%, '%syslogtag%')",sql
*.* :ommysql:localhost,Rsyslogdb,rsyslog,password
*.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none /var/log/messages
authpriv.* /var/log/secure
mail.* -/var/log/maillog
cron.* /var/log/cron
*.emerg *
uucp,news.crit /var/log/spooler
local7.* /var/log/boot.log

Solution to my issue at least - allow the user that accesses the mysql data source "alter" permissions.
