LogAnalyzer not working when internet blocked

Postby atmtech » Mon May 08, 2017 4:57 am

I've got a Centos 7 server (non-SE Linux) running the latest Rsyslog and LogAnalyzer 4.1.5 and it works perfectly when the system's IP address is allowed internet access by our hardware firewall. However, as soon as I block internet access to its IP via the hardware firewall, LogAnalyzer no longer functions properly. The site times out when trying to display log entries.

I modified the /etc/hosts file so that Apache knows to resolve the FQDN to itself, and that got the site itself to load. However, it still gets a PHP timeout error when trying to actually display log entries from the MySQL database. Does anyone know why denying the system internet connectivity would make PHP time out? How can I fix this? We need to keep this system off the internet, as we are using it in a network range that has no internet access.
