Filtering out known warnings/errors

Postby pkienthusiast » Tue Sep 27, 2011 3:30 pm

(Hopefully its not a duplicate post, currently the board is shown some strange messages)

What about a function to only show new warnings ? I would like to klick on warnings to mark them as "already known bugs". So my idea would be a view per server to show only new warnings and errors.

I cant say much about performance but I whonder if I am the first one to ask this question.

We already tried to implement our own views using simple sql statements to accumulate the same message text - what is missing is a front end to mark this consolidated view as "not harmful".

Any comments ? Tools who can do this ?

Thanks,
Thilo

Currently LogAnalyzer does not care if a message has been viewed or not.
LogAnalyzer would need to be extended with it's own kind of KnownledgeBase.

Dear Andre,

since Im quite new to syslog - which tools do you recommend for such a knowledge base approach ?

I suppose simple "mark this message as already seen" point and klick solution is not a big thing to implement.

Thanks,

I think it would be possible to extend Loganalyzer with such a feature, it would need some more specifications on the details. We do offer custom development for LogAnalyzer, maybe this is an option for you?
