Error using maintenance option

Postby mlist » Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:42 pm

I just tried to delete all data because my filesystem is full.
Using the admin function (recycled byn under sources tab) the following error is displayed:
Could not delete data in the '1' source

appliance version: 0.0.5 with phplogcon 2.5.23beta

It may be that the php timeout happened. I have just written together a bit about how to delete records from the database:

http://wiki.rsyslog.com/index.php/PhpLo ... te_Records

I will also change the next version of SyslogAppliance so that by default it purges messages that are older than 60 days (for most use cases, that should be sufficient).

I installed php5-cli but executing the maintenance.php I get the following error:

let me check, I am close to this spot with the appliance. Just setting up the environment (did the doc first based on Andre's input, now setting it up myself...)

OK, I had some trouble, too. There is one include file missing ./src/include/functions_debugoutput.php. Andre had forgotten to add it to git. It is now available at http://git.adiscon.com/?p=phplogcon.git ... heads/beta - you can download the raw blob and place it into the right location.

Then, it works for me. I guess that you do not execute the files from the ./src/cron directory. The default directory must be there, so that the includes be found. Note that this means you need to tweak the sample shell script. I am just doing these tweaks for the next appliance version.

Fyi, this bug has been fixed in Version 2.5.24 now, available for download from here:
http://www.phplogcon.org/downloads

If you expirience performance issues with your database, I recommend this Version. Database performance has been optimized, and even searching and browsing through large database is quiet fast now.

best regards,
