error messages showing as success in the console

Postby tosh » Thu Jan 22, 2004 1:00 pm

Hi

I've got a load of errors in my eventlog, which are listed as follows:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: AdisconMonitoreWareAgent
Event Category: None
Event ID: 114
Date: 22/01/2004
Time: 11:25:55
User: N/A
Computer: AIRLONS0001
Description:
Error sending MIAP message: Remote system closed socket connection while we were expecting data.

I know why these are being displayed, but in my MWConsole, these are showing as NTSeverity Success!

I remember noting this when the console was in Beta - did this not get fixed?

Tosh,

Thanx for the info. I will look into this issue as quickly as possible. Can you tell me where do you see it as success? In the views ?

Dear Tosh,

Thanx for the info. We have checked the code. Unfortunately, NTSeverity = 1 was decoded as Success. It should have been Error. It is corrected now. So this problem will be resolved in Console 2.0 which will be out in the market within a few days. We are sorry for any inconvenience that you might have to face because of this.

Best Regards

ok

Can you add me to the mailing list for new versions of console, and I'll download it when it's ready.

Many thanks

You may also want to check Warnings in the Console - they are also showing as Error

I have an event in Windows NT Event Log showing as Warning

In the console, the details table view shows Error and opening the event shows NTSeverity = 2

Thank you Tosh for this information. There was wrong mapping of NTSeverity values and their text representaions. We have fixed this decoding problem. We, again, thank your help in this regard.

Hi Tosh,

sorry it took a while to setup the announcement mailing list. Somehow other things manged to get in my way, so that I could finish it only today. Anyhow, here it is:

http://lists.adiscon.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mwcon

I suggest that you subscribe. We will send announcments via this list from now on. It is a low volume list, but it will cover more detail than the official news releases from the site. There is also an archive. The whole thing is mailmain, so unsubscribing is also easy at any time ;)
