v8.28.0 Doesn't Understand TCP_FrameDelimiter

Postby cjs » Tue Jul 04, 2017 12:45 pm

I've installed the rsyslog 8.28.0 package on a CentOS 7 system as per the instructions at http://www.rsyslog.com/rhelcentos-rpms/ .

According to the documentation at http://www.rsyslog.com/doc/v8-stable/co ... omfwd.html , it should understand the "TCP_FrameDelimiter" option. However, when I try to use it:

Code: Select all
action(type="omfwd"
    Target="[REDACTED]" Protocol="tcp"
#   Port="5141"
    Port="5142" TCP_FrameDelimiter="0"
    )

rsyslog complains:

Code: Select all
rsyslogd: version 8.28.0.master, config validation run (level 1), master config /etc/rsyslog.conf
rsyslogd: error during parsing file /etc/rsyslog.d/graylog.conf, on or before line 11: parameter 'TCP_FrameDelimiter' not known -- typo in config file? [v8.28.0.master try http://www.rsyslog.com/e/2207 ]

It works fine if I comment out the 'Port="5142"' line and uncomment the 'Port="5141"' line above it.

Is this a bug? Or a problem with this particular build?

Nobody's got any clues about this?

Does anybody have a build from source where they could test this? I tried to do a build myself from the tip of the v8-stable branch but got bogged down in the apparent need a lot of libraries I don't have and gave up.
