Configuring Winsyslog to write to MDB file

Postby uapccuny » Wed Jul 28, 2004 9:00 pm

I've been trying to setup Winsyslog to write to an database file called syslog.mdb. The software is running on Windows 2000 Server, it is version 3.7. I can successfully write to a file, but i don't see anthing in the .mdb file. I've configure the ODBC portion with all the appropriate data and have setup the DSN. Although I don't know what username and passwords to use, i've tried the local admin user account and password to no avail. Also, I set up the Rules for an ODBC with the correct DSN name. HELP!!

Sorry to the orginal poster - somehow this post slipped our mind. In any case, I would like to provide an answer so that other with similar problems can find it.

Most importantly, the 3.7 release is severely outdated. As of this writing, we are at release 5.2. The 3.x series is no longer supported. So as a measure, I suggest downloading the latest build at

Once this is done, you can follow our step-by-step guide at ... -MWA12.php

This guide shows in a very simple manner what to do to enable database logging.

Once again, my apologies for not answering this first place.
