Can log in with Chrome, Cannot Log in with Firefox or I.E

Postby engeneon » Wed Apr 24, 2013 12:46 pm

Hi All

Firstly, thanks for the excellent tool Loganalyzer :-) I've got it running happily and can login and search logs with no issue - in Chrome. However , using the exact same credentials I try logging in with Firefox and I.E and my username gets rejected, here is what I see in my apache logs:

[Wed Apr 24 13:35:53 2013] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] user administrator not found: /loganalyzer/login.php

A successful login from Chrome looks like this in the apache access log:

<hidden> - redacted [24/Apr/2013:13:44:08 +0200] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 404 504 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.31 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1410.64 Safari/537.31"

I can reproduce this by creating new users and passwords , but the effect remains: Successful logins with chrome, fails with Firefox and I.E

My question: Has anyone encountered this before with loganalyzer? Is this a bug, if so have you a fix ?

Many thanks in Advance for any help!

There a re no known login problems related to Firefox or IE as far as I know.
Which version of Loganalyzer are you using?

Hi Alorbach

You are right. I'm being an idiot, I had an AuthBy ... basic authentication clause in the Location directive of my apache config which was imposing a second authentication requirement on the loganalyser page ;-)

Fixed, sorry for the bother!
