I think there currently is no way to suppress duplicate messages. However, I think this feature would be useful.
Andre: I also think it would be easy to implement, at least a subset of it. We could easily suppress two messages immediately following one after another. This could simply be done at the stream driver layer, without the upper peer even knowing that it happens. I don't know if that would server this use case here well, but I think there are a couple of use cases that could benefit from such logic. What do you think - should we give it a quick try in the next release?
