Segmentation Fault on CentOS 5.4, rsyslog 5.4

Postby signdown0 » Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:00 pm

I've recently compiled and installed rsyslog 5.4 on a CentOS 5.4 64-bit system. Debugging doesn't seem to tell me much about the error (a segmentation fault), but I suppose I wouldn't be able to recognize one if I saw it. Advice regarding how to generate more information regarding the error and how to resolve it? I've got plenty of time to test and debug solutions.

Thanks.

Thanks for your report and the willingness to help.

To get started, it would be good if you could create a debug log and mail it to me. The segfault should occur while running in debug mode. Instructions can be found here (scroll down to "Debug Log"):

Please mail the log to rgerhards@gmail.com, but post here when you have done so (I do not regularly check that account).

thanks,
Rainer

Rainer,

I've emailed you the segfault debug log along with another error log that I'm assuming is related. I laid out more details in the email. Let me know if you need anymore information.

Rainer,

It seems that the patched version of 4.6.1 did not prevent my segfault. I've emailed you the debug log. Let me know if you need anything else. I'm more than happy to do what I can.
