USER DB help

Postby And » Fri Jan 30, 2009 11:12 am

Good Morning,
I'm a new user to Phplogcon and I started with 2.4 version. After a few tests I delete my old installation and I installed the latest 2.5.24 version.
I'd like to know if there is a MySQL template to create the user DB, I'm not that good in DB administration and the user system feature is what made me switching version.
Thanks alot!

And :)

  • Custom phpLogCon configuration?
  • Maintenance Contract?
  • Installation support?

Hi And ;)

welcome to the forums here.

If you made a fresh install of phpLogCon, you should have been asked to install the UserDB feature during installation.
If you upgraded your installation, follow the conversion instructions from our wiki:
http://wiki.rsyslog.com/index.php/How_t ... llation%3F

This should help you getting he UserDB running :)

Yes, It's a fresh one and it asks me to input the DB parameter, but the installation procedure itself doesn't create the new DB. Does it automatically should do it?
Thanks!

phpLogCon doesn't automatically create a new DB yet. You have to create an empty database using phpmyadmin yourself first. Then use this database to install phpLogCon including the UserDB System into.

Hi,

I have no helpful advise, but ask for a favor ;) phpLogCon is still in its infancy. So we would like to spread word as much as possible. One way to do so is by having a good rating on freshmeat. If you have a spare minute (really, just one needed), we would appreciate if you could visit this page:

http://freshmeat.net/rate/55742/

and provide a rating (10 is best, choose whatever you find justified) to the project. If you have a sourceforge, it is a single click, but even if you need to register an account with them, all can be done in one minute. And they won't spam you. I'd really appreciate if you could do that.

Thanks,
Rainer (from the shameless self-promo desk ;))
