I get this message when trying to browse on the PDC, on a Windows 2000 network, with 5 servers. Can somebody maybe help me with this.??

Hi, I am currently experiencing this problem on my firms network.
We have a mix of 2003 and 2k servers and Win 2k/XP workstations.
One thing that is seeming to be responsible is DNS - ours is currently in a mess after promoting a member server to a PDC and setting up a DNS replication with an already existing DC.
I am not able to answer this (and I know it is an old post), but in case anyone else is having this issue and, like me, finds this post - maybe it may shed a little match-light on the matter.
Try the following:-
try nbstat -n from command line, if no full info (or at least machine name), then NetBIOS is an issue.
Check to see if a NetBIOS protocol is enabled, if not - enable it.
Enable file and print sharing on the server.

I hope this may slightly help someone at least...
