i am going to ODBC in administrative tools, there in system DSn i add data source, in that data source i am defining name, description and server name then pressing next and select authenticity with windows NT then press next and select change default database, and next next and finish, but every time when i am open this ODBC the check of change default data base is removed, means this is not selecting default database which i am selecting, please help me

Does the NT user have permissions to change the database? Did you use the "Test Data Source..." button on the last configuration page successfully? Maybe you can test it using SQL server authentication?
