rsyslog and load balancers

Postby martin_pg » Mon Feb 23, 2009 4:38 pm

Hi all,

I've read the docs on rsyslog but everything is related to one server and n-clients sending their logs to it...
What if I create at least 2 rsyslog servers and put them behind a load-balancer (on only the virtual IP would be known to the clients)? how to proceed with the TLS certificates for both server and clients?

Tips and tricks much appreciated.

Cheers,
Martin

Are you programming the load balancer to do certificate verification, or are you using it a pass-through? If the former, you'd want to sit down with your load balancer admin to figure out the specific configuration for that load balancer. If you're using it as a pass-through, as long as the authentication information is the same on both servers, the load balancer wont factor into the problem.
