Hello, the upcoming Debian Lenny release will ship with RSyslog 3.18.1 and it should also be the default syslog daemon.
I would like to ask if I'll be able to achieve the following goal with such version or if I'll have to install from sources since I'm not sure that what I want is achievable with a version prior to 3.19.0.
I have a few machines on a "semi-private" network, cleartext communications between hosts could be acceptable but I'd like to encrypt RSyslog streams.
I plan on running RSyslog on each machine and one "main host" among them will also have a MySQL server running for centralized logging.
Will I be able to have all the RSyslog daemons communicate with the main host using secure connections without having to deal with stunnel?
I would be fine with them accessing the database directly or passing through the RSyslog instance running on the main host.
Regards,
Luigi
