Problem with accessing pages after install

Postby rosco » Mon Aug 15, 2005 2:19 pm

Hi there,

Great looking piece of software. Downloaded it and installed and configured with very little fuss. But unfortunatlely, when I try to access the pages, I'm getting loads of errors of the like:

On the initial screen:

Database error: Invalid query
mysql error: Unknown column 'ReceivedAt' in 'where clause'
mysql error number: 1054
Date: 15.08.2005 @ 14:07
Script: /phplogcon/
Referer:

On the Show Events screen:

Database error: Invalid query
mysql error: Unknown column 'ReceivedAt' in 'where clause'
mysql error number: 1054
Date: 15.08.2005 @ 14:16
Script: /phplogcon/events-display.php
Referer: http://hostname/phplogcon/

I know that those entries are there in the MySQL DB, and the database is getting populated with entries from rsyslogd.

Is there anything blatant I've missed?

Cheers

Hi Rosco,

sounds like the 'ReceivedAt' column is missing. Can you please verify that the SystemEvents table has a column 'ReceivedAt'. Did you create the table with phpLogCon?

I used the sample SQL script that came with the software.

I changed the DATE entry in config.php to DeviceReportedTime and this seems to have fixed the problem.

Cheers

Rosco,

Nice that it is working now. However, it would be nice for us to know what caused the initial error. phpLogCon should also run with configured 'ReceivedAt' time. This is the default value and we have never seen the error you have received. Furthermore, rsyslog writes to the column 'ReceivedAt'. So, if the column does not exist, you would get an error from rsyslog. It a strange issue, isn't it?

It would be glad if you could check in the database if the column ‘ReceivedAt’ exists and if there is data in it. Maybe you can do a quick check e.g. with phpmyadmin or any other mysql tool you prefer. Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Michael,

That column does in fact exist and there is valid data in there of the format

YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss

Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Cheers

Rosco,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we can not reproduce this kind of error. Can you tell us which mysql version you are using?
