I've got the Agent installed on one of my servers, collecting SETP events from the other two - haven't touched it for a number of weeks.

Today, I'm starting the Monitorware Client on the server, and I get the error:

FATAL error opening the MonitorWare language file.
32797
Application-defined or object-defined error

and an OK button.

The service is still running and receiving events, and logging to a SQL database, but now I can't configure the agent.

Any ideas? I don't want to kill the config, and I can't be sure when the last backup is (silly me).

Hi,

seems like the Clients language files got deleted.
Please try the repair function from the MW Agent.

First backup your configuratino manually by using regedit.exe
Save the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adiscon\MonitorWare
It contains all configuration.

If this does not solve the problem, email me and I will instruct you how to manually repair the problem.

didn't work

exported the key - ran setup and chose Repair

Started the client again - same error message...

OK, I send you an email with an xml file you have to copy into teh MonitorWare Agent directory. Let me know if this solves the problem.

Btw, to access your configuration durign meantime, install MonitorWare Agent on another machine, and use the MW Client there to connect to the other machine and to configure it.

didn't think of that - I'll install the agent on my machine, and see if I can get to the settings from there...

yes, connecting from another machine works fine...

Unless you have any other ideas why this is happening - I'll reboot the server at the end of play today, and see if it helps with running the client.

How can I receive that XML file on how to get rid of this error message?
