Fedora 8 and Rsyslog (/usr/lib/rsyslog/ommysql.so)

Postby mxqute on Mon Dec 24, 2007 10:10 pm

With a fresh install of Fedora8 w/ Rsyslog (default install) I can confirm that it is logging but I cannot get the mysql portion to work. Here is the error that I am encountering:

Dec 24 15:53:04 btrimxnet rsyslogd:could not load module '/usr/lib/rsyslog/ommysql.so', dlopen: /usr/lib/rsyslog/ommysql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have confirmed that the file is not present

Even though this rsyslog package came with Fedora 8, can i download the whole package from this site and grab the missing file there to get it to work?

Thanks in advance.

download from this site
unpack
./configue --enable-mysql
make
make install

... should do the trick.

Hi, the mysql functionality in Fedora is in a separate package called rsyslog-mysql. For some reason it is missing in the F8 repository, but you can try the one from rawhide, for example:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/f ... 9.i386.rpm
