Why only mysql support?

Is it possible to add postgresql module? I think that's better database for large tables.

Honestly... the reason for "just MySQL" is limited ressources. At this point, I do neither have the knowledge nor any test environment to do postgres. Adding more databases is on the todo list, but there are many things on that list ;)

If you can point me to a simple sample application and simple postgres setup instructions, that would eventually speed up the process (I am also interested in Oracle...).

If Libdbi were still being kept current, then it could be a solution for having multiple backends available (in the Database arena).

Just a side-note for those finding this thread via a search engine. As of 1.20.0, rsyslog natively supports PostgreSQL. That module was contributed by sur5r, which I thank for his effort! :)
