Phplogcon multi db question

Postby JavierFT on Fri Nov 25, 2005 5:26 pm

Ok,
Got my first question. I tried opening multiple instances of the front-end. It seems that when one person wants to view a certain db it causes all viewers to see the same database. Was this by design or could this potentially be a bug? I would think each instance should be able to work individually from the other instances viewing x db.

Let me know,
Javier

Hello Javier,

this has something todo with the php session variables we use in phplogcon, then every phplogcon instance will use this session vars cause they are stored on the system. But the problem should be solved if you work on different machines? If not please let me know, then I will have a look at the session vars configuration cause then I would be a little confused ;)

That's weired and definitely not how it should work. Even on a single machine, you of course should be ablte to have multiple sessions. We are looking into it ;)

Javier,

I had some discussions. Looks like php-Sessions are always on a per-browser basis. Somewhat silly, but it looks this is the way it is ;) We'll think about work-arounds. Anyhow, I'd appreciate if you could first check if the functionality is what you need. If there are other issues, we can eventually change that together with the session thing.

functionality wise the field is exactly what I am looking for. I am running it on a couple of different machines and I can have 2 different db's open one per box. That is plenty fine for me.

Again you guys have outdone yourselves.
