I am getting a failed MySQL login message when I start rsyslogd. I can login using the credentials manualy ( mysql -u mysql --password=logd Syslog ) ... no problem, but for some reason when the command is ran from my rsyslog.conf is does not work. I have attached my rysyslog statement and error code below.

error from rsyslogd -d -

rsyslog.conf database statement -

*.* >127.0.0.1,Syslog,mysql,logd

any ideas ......

• Custom written rsyslog.conf?
• Maintenance Contract?
• Installation support?

Just trying... might it be that the "mysql" user does not have insert permissions on the table?

I have same issue. I can change the password of the user account and then login to Mysql and access the database from the same user that i am using with rsyslogd to enter information in the databsae.

Do you have exactly the same error message or is something different?
