Did someone sucessfully compile rsyslogd under Solaris 8 with gcc 2.95.c?
Can I have the master.make if there's any.

I'd like to know the installation steps necessary for a successful install into Solaris 10. I've installed successfully under Ubuntu, but the compile under Solaris doesn't look as straight foward.

So far, rsyslog does not compile under Solaris. We've had a couple of request, so we are currently building a compile/test environment. I can't promise anything, though, but we are looking at it.

It's a long time since I replied to this thread. Today, I finally got a test environment running and some time to play with it. I have modified the code to compile under Solaris, and remote logging runs. I have an issue with local logging. Anyhow, if somebody would like to try it out, please drop me a line. You can also obtain the current source from anonymous CVS. I have it updated

I have been searching for exactly what rsyslogd and phplogcon can do but unfortunately, rsyslogd doesn't compile under Solaris 8. I saw this thread and was wondering whatever became of the makefile you had been testing? Thanks for your time.

its not just a makefile. There are many code changes. The CVS version compiles, but does only work remotely. I am working on this. I have to admit that I needed to put it on hold for a while, but I think I can resume shortly. When implementing, its probably 1 to 3 days to make it fully compatible.
