We have hosted a asp.net 2.0 based website on a windows 2003 server based dedicated
server. Our website is functioning based on system date. For testing purpose we need
to change system clock date to different date/month/year etc. But when we change
this clock date , within a few minute system clock gets reset to current date and
time only. There is some synchronization feature avialble in windows 2003 server.
Our dedicated server is in workgroup so how to disable this time synchronization either thru internal clock or thru external source
for a temporary period.

Hi,

you can only disable or enable automatich time updates from the internet. Kindly open the timedate control panel (see Control Panel), click on Internettime Tab and disable automatic synchronization.

We have already disable Internet time synchronization which is there in
Date / time dialogue box. This time synchronization happens thru time.windows.com

But still our system clock gets reset to current date and time after a few minutes of changing it.

We have also tried stopping windows time service. But still system date and time resets after a few minute.

Is there any way to find out , how this machine gets synchronize ? i.e. thru which source ??

Hrm strange. Well you can do it the hard way and block outgoing connections on TCP Port 123, which is usually the default port for timeupdates. Then the machine can't connect to this port outside and update the time.

our hosting server administrator close port 123 , but still it does time synchronization. Pls help how to stop time synchronization

I have almost exactly the same problem. Anyone found a solution?
