Looking for some help re a problem we are experiencing upgrading the EventReporter client on a Windows 2000 server. Message that comes back is

ERROR
Error Loading c:\documents\.....
The specific module could not be found.


The Application event log also contains the following event.......

Source: MsiInstaller
Event ID: 11708
Product: EventReporter 8.2 Win32 - Build 272 -- Installation operation failed.

We have been in touch with Adiscon Support and completed some actions following this (installing MSXML V3 SP7....then MSXML V3 SP5) but this did not resovle the issue.

Some other actions we've taken....again no resolution.

1) Complete uninstall of existing client and install of new client
2) Verification that the "msxmlx.inf" file was not read only


Would appreciate greatly any assistence or advice that anyone could give as we're litlerally tearing our hair out on this one.

welcome to the forums.
This Windows 2000 machine, I assume that the latest ServicePack is installed. The current will not work with Windows 2000 SP2 or lower, as the Windows Installer 3.x requires at least SP3 for Windows 2000.

However for further troubleshooting, I would need a debug log from the installation process. If this is the same issue as in the ticket, there is no need to send me a new one.

I will answer the case in the ticket.
