W2k Terminal Services not issueing out licences

Postby Godfather on Thu Apr 10, 2003 2:52 am

Hi all,

We have 4 or so licences that have not been issued out after its 90-day period.
Wehave applied the "Licencing Enhancment" patch late last year. After the patch had been applied, we cleaned the registry on all the client machines and then rebooted the server.
After this reboot licences had been issued to clients.
Now, we have 4 licences that had finished its 90-days and had gone back into the pool to be issued out again. The thing is that they are not been re-issued out, they seem to be stuck.
The patch mentioned above was meant to fix this problem.

Can anyone help with this problem?

:(

I had an identical problem. after calling Microsoft, I found out that the licenses do not auto-reassign. You have to uninstall licensing altogether and completely reinstall it! Then you have to make sure those machines which need licenses connect before anything else.

More bad news - the licenses will have to be "renewed" in another two years for another $60 a pop.

Make sure you've written down the license codes before you do the uninstall.
