ODBC to SQL Server

Postby stonedart on Wed Mar 26, 2003 2:54 pm

I am unable to use the SQL Server. According to the log, the DSN opens, it sends the username correctly, then sends the password incorrectly with "Create new DBConn!" attached to the password. How can I correct this?

CActionConfigODBC::openDBConn()
DSN=SysLog;UID=Username;PWD=PasswordCreate new DBConn!

Actually, this is just a glitch in the debug log. The "Create new DBCon!" should be on a line by its own. So the password is set correctly.

As such, the error is most probably not password related. The 08001 ODBC error says "Error connecting to data source", which most probably means there is a typo in the database server name or a network connection problem.

You may also want to have a look at the Windows Application Event Log. Some additional descriptions may be logged there.

I hope this helps,
