Netlogon folder opens on startup

Postby mzancz on Thu Jan 13, 2005 9:07 pm

We just have implemented two new Windows server 2003 servers. We are using group policys to set the users wallpaper and screensaver. Whenever a user logs in to the new domain a Netlogon folder opens on startup. The folder is also empty. Does anyone know why this folder would open up? How do I get it to stop? The whole folder name is Netlogon on DC1. Any help would be appreciated.

You are supposed to use the netlogon folder for login scripts!

I had the same issue when I implemented .vbs scripts using group policy and deleted the login.bat from the user profile.

The problem was caused when I deleted the login.bat file by highlighting it and pressing the space bar. The result was that the system was looking for a login script called "space".

The problem was fixed when I removed the space from the logon script field in the user's profile
