Hello everyone!

I am using EventReporter 6.4.232 with client version 6.4.156. I believe this to be the latest release version.

I have succesfully configured my rules and actions, and am logging to text files on the server where the EventReporter is installed.

The manual says that the text logging will create a new log file for every day. I would like to be able to configure it for a new log file every month. We are only filtering for a small number of very specific events, and the files will be very small.

It seems like it will be a hassle to pick through 30 files looking for these events. Is it possible to configure the file to roll over monthly or weekly?

Hi,

it is possible to have a logfile for each month only.
But you will need to use the "Enable Property replacement in Filename" Option and disable the "Create unique filenames" Option in order to do this. As File Base Name use %timegenerated:1:7%. This will create a monthly Filename like "EventReporter-2005-03.log".

Yes it will, as only the month and year are included into the filename
