I just noticed a new problem: in console the timestamps of the messages appear in some unknown timezone instead of the local timezone (CST) - the displayed values are 6 hours behind. I found a Time Zone dialog under Options - I selected Central Time and hit Close (there is not an OK button), but it doesn't seem to affect the displayed data.

How do I change the displayed timezone?

Does anyone know what the Time Zone dialog box is supposed to do?

Does anyone know what the default time zone for the event views should be?

Any help would be appreciated. In the mean time I will probably reinstall the software and see if it was any of the "fix" binaries that I received (for other problems) causing my issues...

I think I figured it out...

The software seems to assume that all date/time values in the database are in GMT and applies the user's timezone offset to those values....my database values are in CST and my user's timezone was CST and the resulting displayed date/time values were 6 hours off.

The solution was to set the user's timezone to GMT (no offset) which effectively displayed the correct database values with no offset.

Not sure if my assumptions are correct but my user's now see the correct timestamps...

You are right. MonitorWare Console assumes that the values in the database are in UTC. So, if your values *are* in UTC in your database, then you should select correct timezone of your current user so that it can add that offset to give you the correct value of time. However, if your values in the database are *not* in UTC (rather are in local time format), then you should select a timezone with 0 offset. I hope this helps
