I am running NewsMerge on a WInXP Home system.

When I try to open an issue for editing, This error message pops up:

Component "dhtmled.ocx" or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid.

I have Roxio Go Back installed and running, but I am not sure what to try to reset. Will a reinstall fix this? I am using Newsmerge 2.2.507.

Additional information November 28:

dhtmled.ocx seems not to be correctly registered in the Registry: the second line in the NewsMerge entry is all zeros. I have tried reinstalling Internet Explorer and Outlook Express to see if that will fix the registry, but it does not. As well, I have tried unregistering and reregistering dhtmled.ocx at the command line, but inspite of changing the path of the command line, I cannot get past the "cannot find path" error.

So I still cannot edit my weekly newsletter that was due out this weekend.

NewsMerge itself does install this control if it is missing.
So a reinstall might work. If not, try the following command in the command prompt:

regsvr32 DHTMLED.OCX

I have uninstalled the previous version, reinstalled build 507, rebooted and still get the error message when I try to edit.

I have run regsrv32 dhtmled.ocx at the command prompt, rebooted, and still had the same problem.

I have run Norton to repair registry problems -- there were some, but the error message still crashes the program.

Is there a registry edit I can do directly?

At the command prompt, I ran regsrv32 dhtmled.ocx successfully, then I changed to the resident directory for triedit.dll, and ran regsvr32 triedit.dll,
and was able to edit again.

Question: is 507 the most recent stable build?

Build 511 is the latest one, see this thread
