Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server. The server is:
{00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
The user is Unavailable/Unavailable, SID=Unavailable.

doesn't anyone have an answer to this yet ??????????????????

i have the same problem, no solution yet.

Source : DCOM, event id : 10002
Apps : {00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} (MS Word class id)
User : Unavailable/Unavailable, SID=Unavailable.

I have thousands of errors of this type every days...

If this does not work, try the following:
1. Exit both Word and Outlook
2. Start REGEDIT and delete the following registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

3. Exit Registry Editor and repair or reinstall Office.

Reinstall Microsoft Word

Sorry, I should have said uninstall Office. One can fix it by reading KB288368. I did a fresh install of W2K SP4, Office 2003 and everytnig patched and had this DCOM problem. It was fixed by http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;288368
