When I attempt to start the Event reporter client on a Win2ksp4 box as an administrator, it complains;

"FATAL Error because XML Translator or MS XMLParser not installed. 429 Active X component can't create object"

MS XML parser and SDK v4.0 is installed on the box, so why is it complaining about XML?

the EventReporter uses the MS XML Parser 3.0, this version was proberly not successfully installed.
Please try to install the XML Parser manually by download the setup from Microsoft here.

I found that the XML parser version 4.0 will not work with this program. Only the version 3.0 appears to work at this time. I am not sure why. Note that you can install both parsers on the same machine.

oh it is because the Client uses Microsoft XML Parser version 3.0
However the installer should automatically install XML Parser 3.0 during installation. And yes you are right, it can run besides 4.0 and 5.0 without any problems.
