ACIP error - BIOS not fully compliant

Postby Guest on Thu Mar 06, 2003 11:36 am

Hi I have just got a new motherboard an ABIT KD7-RAID.
When i try to install windows on my new hard drive, it says that the bios is not compliant:
STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x00000011, 0x00000004, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I have updated the bios but it still does the same thing.
The bios obviously IS ACPi compliant, as it is a modern board and new bios.

Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I would say it is an BIOS related problem (There is some problem with ACPI Support). As it is a new board, it can be an unsolved problem at the moment, who knows ;).

But you can workaround the problem if you install Windows without ACPI Support by pressing F5 while the Windows setup is loading.

After some time, you should get prompted to select either ACPI or Standard PC. Select Standard PC instead of ACPI, then you should have success installation Windows.
