Hi,

this thread is meant as feedback for the new 2.0 Version.
If you have found any bugs, any questions or recommendations, please post some here.

So far this new version of Pocket Passwords works great.
I was able to create my own folder, and put custom items in it.
I like the encryption, and the sorting.

I found a few bugs.

1) The session timeout doesn't work for me (from a private conversation: it may need to have encryption turned on to work)

2) There seems to be a problem at startup. It trys to import because it sees the original exe is still there. If you say no to the import you get a IOException.

3) When I uninstalled PocketPasswords 1.0, the icon for 2.0 was removed, and I was kept with a dead link to 1.0.

Let me address your issues:

To 1: Good point the Session time field needs to be grayed out if encryption is disabled. It is ignored if encryption is disabled because the login and logout is disabled as well in this case

To 2: Thanks I will do some more testing here. But for your info, the original PocketPassword exe file is overwritten. It detects old installations if A) the file SecurePwdData.txt exists in the folder AND PocketPasswords 1.0 settings exist.

To 3: That's very strange, I tried that and on my PPC it has overwritten the 1.0 icon with the new one. Which PocketPC WIindows Version do you have?

So far so good. I haven't had any real problems with this new version.
Just two things...

1) Can you post some information about the XML format.
I created my own XML, but I have to wonder if there is more.
<category><name><singlename><icon><fields><field><entry> are a few that I have found.

2) Can you clean up this forum a bit? Create a new branch for the new version. Most of the messages are from the old version.

I will post the informatino you request soon.

A category editor will be added in a later step, possible 2.1.
However the xml format definition will be posted as sticky into this forum once PocketPasswords 2.0 has become final (which will be soon)

Once 2.0 is released I will take yoru advise and clean up the forum.
