Cisco ASA Syslog using SSL/TLS

Postby nullroute4u » Thu Jan 28, 2010 3:59 pm

Hello,

As of ASA version 8.0 and above, Cisco has introduced the ability to encrypt TCP syslog using SSL/TLS. I'm aware that rsyslog supports SSL/TLS, but unfortunately I can't find any documentation from Cisco or anywhere else on setting up syslog with SSL/TLS. Can/does rsyslog support this? Anyone treaded these waters yet?

Thanks in advance!

I have no such device available, but in theory it should work. rsyslog may need some tweaks, as I noticed that the last version of the draft made some changes. If you can test it, I would try my best to do all these changes (but I am unfortunately rather busy at the moment). Having said that, I have no idea what needs to be done on the Cisco side...
