Installation trouble

Postby YvesR on Tue Feb 17, 2004 8:16 am

I upgraded my eventreporter 5.2 to 6.2.
using the remote installation now fails:

error message cannot find SSLEAY32.dll

To my knowledge, SSL works OK on that XP machine.

I installed the full package on a 2003 server to steer the remote version.
After the installation failure, I tried to do a local configuration of the event reporter client on that server. However, I got an hangingapplication for event for CfgEcntSlog.exe. The eventlog also states that the service has been removed. Rebooting does not fix the problem.

What did I do wrong?
Should I go back to my old (robust) version?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Adiscon support and for using our product. Please make sure the following.

There are two new dll's located in the EventReporter directory which are needed (used for SETP over SSL):

libeay32.dll
ssleay32.dll

Copy these dll's either in System32 or in the EventReporter directory. They are staticly linked into the program, so these dll's are necessary (even if they are not used in your configuration).

And please go in for a fresh installation. I hope this works for you.

Hi,

in addition to this, EventReporter uses OpenSSL which is not Part of Windows.

But the Installer should have copied these dll's into the EventReporter installation folder. Were there any error's during installation?

However you can download these two dll's from the following location and manually copy them into the EventReporter installation folder to solve the problem:

libeay32.dll
ssleay32.dll
