Postby nielsvd on Fri Feb 06, 2004 10:43 am

After migrating a computer i'm getting this message:
The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship.

I've tried everething, but none seems to help. I hope anyone can give me some advice.
Migrating NT4-->W2K

Thanks a lot

I have followed all instructions per Q260871, BUT when I try to test a
computer account migration, (ie "test the migration settings and migrate
later) I get an error in the Agent Log:
"ERR3:7075 Failed to change domain affiliation, hr=800706fb. The security
database on the server does not have a computer account for this
workstation."
I tried redoing the trust, and verified I am logged on as an admin to all
components!!
PLEASE HELP! what am I missing???

Hi Willy,

Thanks for posting here!

This is expected and it is not really a problem.

The error is reported because the security translation process queries for
the migrated computer accounts in the target domain. No changes are
written when running ADMTv2 in test mode, so no migrated computer accounts
will be found in the target domain.

Migrating the account should work when run it in the live mode.

Thank you for using our news groups!
