Hi

I'm using 0.0.4 version and I'm going to download and install 0.0.5.
What is the correct procedure in order to backup and restore my data from old to new appliance?
I think this thread could also be useful as backup and restore procedure for any future release

Hi Marco,

this is a very good point and definitely a weakness in the current appliance. We need to have a standard mechanism to do that.

If you have note made any changes to the appliance config itself (other than phpLogCon settings), you can simply copy over the MySQL database files for the Syslog database - either by means of a file copy (when the database is shut down) or, probably better, via MySQL backup and restore tools.

Please let me know if that helps. If not, I'll see that I dig out some detail instructions.

I don't know my sql anyway I think that a google search should help me. Otherwise I'll try to make a tar of /var/lib/mysql and restore on new server
