phplogcon and paypal link on main page problem

Postby askorp » Tue Sep 16, 2008 12:15 pm

Hi again:)

After succesfully installing phplogcon 2.5.6 i came accross a strange problem.
The enviroment i work is a closed network....there is no internet access....
Every time i open phplogcon i see that the page tries to access the paypal site to load the banner on top of the page....and it keeps looking....
This somehow blocks the web page trafic...for example if i set autorefresh at 15 seconds the page will autorefresh after 30 secs at best. Sometimes it just doesn't.
Any ideas how can i stop phplogcon from looking for internet access?

Regards,

Aris

phpLogCon professional services

  • Custom phpLogCon configuration?
  • Maintenance Contract?
  • Installation support?

Hi Aris,

I understand about this problem.
There are two ways to workaround this issue, the first is to install and use the phpLogCon user management system.
The paypal button is not displayed if you are logged into phpLogCon, only within the Admin Center.

The second way is to remove the paypal button from the templates/include_header.html file. Remove everything between "<!-- IF SHOW_DONATEBUTTON="true" -->" and "<!-- ENDIF SHOW_DONATEBUTTON="true" -->".

The user management system is available in the 2.5.x devel branch, and requires a MYSQL database.
If you didn't enable it during installation, you can enable it by accessing the convert.php in your phpLogCon installation. You have to set the user database options in your config.php first.

Once you have the user database system installed, you can fully configure and administrate phpLogCon using the "Admin Center".

I am sorry, but there is not much documentation about this out there at the moment.
