Hi,

please could anyone tell me if it is possible to use the rsyslog for logging messages generated by an Oracle 10g application server OC4J instance? I was googling around but not successfully.

I did not try with oracle but I think it can.

I suggest you to check your configuration file once. Post it here if you are still not able to get it done.

That would be great. I do *NOT* have Oracle at hand, so I can not disperse any advise... Please let us know any findings.

hi guys,

I am currently at the fact-finding stage and do not have a working rsyslog server. I was under the impression that the Oracle OC4J being a java app uses the log4j package. Please could you tell me if rsyslog can deal with log4j? I am sorry if the question sounds silly, i am a noob in this area.

there are a couple of threads about log4j either here or in the mailing list archive. In short, it works well
