Postby Ryan » Tue Nov 25, 2003 9:59 pm

We currently are using Syslog to generate loag files from our Cisco routers (with Firewall Feature Set installed) and switches. Is there a way to set triggers so that I get notified by e-mail everytime a certain even comes up? Thank. Ryan

Hi,

first of all yes you can define new Rules which contain email actions and configure Filters for them. For a little filter example you can take a look to this faq: http://www.winsyslog.com/Common/en/FAQ/ ... itions.asp

Hello,

In addition to what my colleague said, if you are new to our product, I would strongly suggest that you fully understand our Rule Engine as well. That will really help you out in getting the most out of our product. You can get a detailed online seminar on Rule Engine at:

http://seminars.adiscon.com/RuleEngine/RuleEngine.htm

I hope it will help you out in understanding the Rule Engine. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards,
Wajih-ur-Rehman
