Where can I find information on the filter syntax?

Example,
filter by date
filter by service (IE. ssh)
filter by date and service

it is supposed to find such information in our documentation wiki, but is still in the works.
You will find informations about the filtering and other things here:

For the time being, try to use the search page, it will create filters for you automatically.

Is there a way to get it to just show a message once?

IE. if i have crontab that runs every minute, it will display that 1440 times in a day.

I think there currently is no way to suppress duplicate messages. However, I think this feature would be useful.

Andre: I also think it would be easy to implement, at least a subset of it. We could easily suppress two messages immediately following one after another. This could simply be done at the stream driver layer, without the upper peer even knowing that it happens. I don't know if that would server this use case here well, but I think there are a couple of use cases that could benefit from such logic. What do you think - should we give it a quick try in the next release?

This should be indeed not a big problem to implement. I am going to add it on the todo list for the next minor features.
