Unable to start a DCOM Server - Event ID 10000

Postby AJG on Fri Oct 17, 2003 6:22 pm

Any ideas why I'm getting the following :

{A70BE7BC-7DDF-4057-A161-D4A0A3AB5E69}. The error:
"%1 is not a valid Windows NT application. "
Happened while starting this command:
N:\program files\Adv2000\aACentral.exe -Embedding

Ignoring the executable I'm trying to run, it appears my COM engine might have failed. Has anyone any information for me i.e. how do you go about re-installing COM (excuse my ignorance!)

From the error message, it could be that the aACentral.exe is infected / destroyed by a virus. I have seen this before on Windows NT before.

in order to resolve his issue - open up the registry - search for path string - place the path in quotes and restart- no time to explain -
